On the instructions of President Emmanuel Macron, the Ministry of the Interior Gérald Darmanin is quietly working on a draft referendum on immigration issues.
According to our sources, the project will have the dual aim of establishing new measures to better accommodate legal foreign residents, while at the same time tightening up legislation on the expulsion of illegal immigrants or foreign “troublemakers”.
