A recent FBI memo states that, in 2022, the Iranian Pasdaran intelligence service attempted to recruit 7 Iranians with dual US citizenship. According to the memo, clandestine Iranian cells are still being sought in New York, Virginia and California.

According to the FBI memo, among those targeted by this clandestine Iranian network was a member of the White House Secret Service, who had been approached through a woman of American nationality born in Iran, with whom he was having a romantic relationship.
